Prof. Dr. Kedar Rahane is actively involved in social work. Through his organization, Manav Vikas Kalyan Pratishthan, has been doing remarkable work in various fields for the last 15 years. The organization has been working to create various employment opportunities by imparting vocational skill education and training to the youth. He has also arranged to provide free education to the widows and children of martyred soldiers and to the widows and children of farmers who have committed suicide.
